Site Challenges & Technical Execution
Mechanical scraping of stubborn adhesives on painted drywall often rips the paper facing, creating unsightly depressions and requiring extensive skim-coating. In this facility, historical double-sided mounting tapes and bracket holes had compromised multiple student thoroughfares.
- Thermal Adhesive Release: Applied precision heat guns and citrus-based dissolution agents to soften polymer adhesives without delaminating underlying paint or brickwork.
- Flush Plaster Repair: Depressions and wall anchor holes were filled with rapid-cure structural compound, feather-sanded flush with adjoining wall planes.
- Low-VOC Architectural Coating: Utilised premium zero/ultra-low VOC washable acrylic paints to protect indoor air quality for students and staff.
- Color Matching: Custom spectro-matched paint formulas ensuring zero visible transitions between existing corridor sections and renewed areas.
