Project Challenges & Site Conditions
Aerosol paint vandalism in public-access stairwells poses multiple compliance and aesthetic hazards. Left untreated, taggers often re-target the same surfaces, leading to rapid degradation of architectural substrates. Moreover, harsh abrasive sandblasting was prohibited due to risk of surface etching and hazardous airborne particulates in enclosed stair towers.
- Substrate Integrity: Utilised pH-balanced, biodegradable solvency formulas formulated to dissolve synthetic aerosol acrylics without degrading the concrete matrix.
- Protective Barrier Application: Applied a breathable anti-graffiti sacrificial barrier that prevents future aerosol pigments from penetrating into the porous stone.
- Safety & Compliance: Scheduled outside peak business hours under strict ISO 45001 safety controls, keeping emergency egress routes clear.
